1
Where do I book a class?
All of our classes are booked online on our website here. If you have any issues or questions please reach out to us via email at gearsroboticsstaug@gmail.com
2
Does my child need their own device?
It is highly beneficial for your child to have their own device, enabling them to continue working on projects after class (they'll definitely want to!). If you don't have one available, GEARs Robotics offers loaner devices upon request.
3
What device is best to use?
Updated iPads are recommended, but many apps are now compatible with a range of devices. If your device is not compatible, we will provide a loaner device for your child.
4
Does my child need to know how to read to learn to code?
Surprisingly, no! Many of the coding languages we utilize are visual, using arrows to create sequences and algorithms. If your child can count, they can learn to code! For apps that do require reading, teacher instruction will provide the necessary support.
5
Do you teach children with special needs?
Yes! As St. John's Country teachers, we are well equipped in reaching children that may struggle in a standardized classroom setting.
6
Who teaches the children?

Are there refunds?
Computer programming is an enjoyable yet challenging skill to master. There will be moments when it feels difficult, and your child might feel like giving up. However, pulling them out of class does not help build the resilience necessary for learning new skills. Many children want to quit when they face challenges because it's not always fun. Offering refunds gives them an easy way out, while a no-refund policy encourages commitment. Young coders need to persevere through tough times to achieve the final outcome, and they won't regret it!
